Letter #54- "Está pensando de mim? "Estou pensando de você," me diz.‏

hahaha.  That is a song I heard one time, it´s been in my head for a while. I love it.
Well, this week has been INTENSE. I will just start off by saying 2 things. 1.) I am super excited to talk to you all on Mother´s Day. I don´t think I have come to realize just how close it is. Do you realize that after Sunday, I will only call one more time to you guys on the mission and then I´ll be home? Isn´t that CRAZY!?
2.) I love my companion. He is so great. If you could just imagine a super skinnier Brazilian version of me, that would be my companion, Elder Elias.
So, there are so many things I want to tell you. First off, I am super lucky. This past week we had a Regional Conference (all the south of Brazil) who spoke? Elder Holland and President Monson. I got to hear the Prophet speak. How lucky am I? No, it wasn´t live, but it was still perfect. Elder Holland talked about how we need to have 3 holy places in our lives 1.) our homes. I am grateful that we have worked so hard in our family to make our home holy. 2.) the chapel. 3.) the temple. It was super awesome. The president of the primary or a counselor spoke and she said "When we want to speak to God, we pray, when He wants to speak to us, we read the scriptures." It was good stuff. The Prophet, I love him so much, he was talking about this guy, that when this guy´s dad died, he said that his father had the ability to 'see Christ in every person he met.' Elder Elias and I have made that this month´s theme in our Zone- to see Christ in all the people we teach.
We were praying all last week to find a baptismal goal for the month for our zone and what we were going to focus on. It was so neat as we were praying and fasting and really crying to the Lord and talking to each other. It was amazing to see the Lord respond to our prayers. We were sitting there Sunday night talking in our house. We decided to make teaching 21 lessons a week one of our focuses. "Then what else?" we said. I thought to myself  'how are we gonna get 21 lessons a week?' The missionary answer: good planning! So I said let´s also focus on good planning. Elder Elias loved it. "but how?" immediately the Lord put in our minds. It was like a vision! We saw ourselves using the effictive planning suggestions in the front of the planner. So we decided, that´s it! That´s what we will do! and it was amazing. The Lord also told us 25 baptisms this month. This zone has never had that much. We knew if we just presented it to the zone, it would be hard to get.
At the zone meeting, we knelt as a zone and asked the Lord to help us find a goal. Everyone decided on 25. Everyone is so excited.  What is neat was 2 nights ago, we started using the planning tips in our planners. The Lord lead our planning meeting and we planned a great day. As we were walking to an appointment, a man shouted "Elderes!" So we went and he said "Where is the nearest stake?" We told him. "You gotta come teach me." "You´re not a member?" "No, the elderes started teaching me but then I moved." WHAT A BLESSING!
Also at the regional conference a lady came in and tapped me. "I have a reference." She showed me to a man named Alex. He was baptized in 1991, but went inactive for a LONG time. That week he had been thinking a lot about the church. and went on Sunday to our chapel, but because of regional conference, the chapel was closed (we were in another chapel) "Great," he thought "God must not want me to go to this church" Right as he was getting in his car members from another city that were visiting pulled up "Hey!" they said, "Are you a member of this church?" "I am, but inactive" he said. "Today is a special conference in another chapel. Follow us and we can go to church together." So he went! The lady showed him to me. Monday we went to his work and taught his wife and yesterday we taught her, him and their son! His wife and son have a baptismal date for the 22. I am super super super excited. "Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of Heaven!"
hahaha and thanks for the update in the news... everyone forgot to tell me that Bin Laden was killed! hahaha I´m kidding. But I heard a great joke. send it to zach cuz he´ll understand.
Question: "Sabe que Bin Laden foi morto? Sabe as últimas palavras que ele falou para os filhos dele?"
Punch line: "Que ele OS AMA!!!"
I just about died from laughter. One of the best jokes I have heard.
Well, that´s all I have. I love you so much and I am super excited to talk to you all on Sunday!
com amor de seu filho e irmão,
Elder Nay
